Family farmed. Family crafted.
Cordi Winery is a boutique family farmed and operated vineyard and winery at the base of the Sutter Buttes. For a decade, we have handcrafted Farm-to-Cork style estate wines.
Our venture into winemaking started with a winter storm in January of 2008. Previously, almond growers, high winds toppled 70% of our orchards. With the perfect soil and climate and a dream to make wine, we decided to make a change and began replanting in grapes. We planted our first vineyard in the summer of 2009 which consisted of 300 Primitivo vines. Over the next few years we expanded into a 15 acre vineyard and now grow 12 different grape varietals. We are a full production facility, from the vine to the bottle, we do it all and all by hand!
Our family loves to share the beauty and nature of the area and of course, our wines! We welcome guests to join us on open weekends.
We believe in making wine from the fruit Earth provides and with little intervention. Fermentation, after all, is a naturally occurring process. We are hands on winemakers and rely heavily on our senses; from chewing on grapes in the vineyard pre-harvest, to really using our noses and palates in the cellar.
We specialize in 100% single varietal wines, meaning only one varietal is used, and that's the grape on the label. We prefer to illuminate the true characteristics of each grape and many of our estate wines are unfined and lightly filtered to keep those characteristics intact.
